We stumbled onto an app called Roadtrippers about three years ago. Since then we have used it to plan thousands of miles of roadtrips. We use it to take screenshots and post them for recommendations in areas where we aren’t sure if we’re missing something. We use it to plan stops, rv parks and, well, just a lot of the details of our trips.

See that huge gap between 8 and 9? Yeah, we do too. While my husband is more than happy to run from 8 to 9 without stops, our kids just aren’t up for it. We’re big fans of amazing natural things – like state parks, historical locations, waterfalls, mountain vistas and the app is great for making recommendations, but we didn’t see anything we really loved …. but….

And sure enough, there are endless amazing outdoor things to do along our existing route.
So if you’re heading for a destination, you can put that in the app, it’ll load your trip on the map and then it will help you find things between where you are and your destination, based on what you want to do.
